modern literary mythology...

perfect. :)

Yeah, I have always admired their creativity and willingness to experiment with different ideas and sounds. It is great to see a group push the boundries of music.

But then taking the music and bringing in design and artwork is almost genius. Looking around at their Tomato work, I can see that they can even go further in the future. I with them luck in everything. And I hope more musicians begin to get creative in their multimedia.

downloaded that mix... proper tings...

got to be one of the best d&b dj's I have ever come across. The blurbs on his site definitely hold true. I reckon his past experience as a trance dj help with his programming skills. Thanks for this man...

Yes mate, I downloaded both their mix packages last year. They are definitely on it as far as the whole quality d.i.y. synthesis of the arts thing goes. Im gonna make all the images and the music into my own little quicktime movie at some point. Its a fantastic project and one I could easily see you putting your hand to aswell. Also Underworld means alot to me as they are from my part of the world on the London/Essex borders. Alot of the images in those sets are of places I know really well from Canary Wharf and the Docklands right out to Maldon on the coast. Their tracks and lyrics have kind of given the places I inhabit a kind of modern literary mythology which this part of the country often lacks as people can be very scathing or ambivalent about it. Im sure you have heard of the "essex girl" jokes. Its like someone has finally noticed that these places have a unique and special character after all and are not some kind of geographical and cultural deadzone. I love Underworld for that.

Yeah, I was thinking it was one of the composers who they would feature later in the videos. But I waited until the end, and found my self a little confused. But, that's how a lot of those sci-fi BBC shows leave me feeling so maybe it was meant to add a little humor/mystery to a show of facts and computers.

Good stuff though, I really enjoyed it.

I saw the documentary too (downloaded DVD quality version here actually: fatbaron.com) truly stunning docu. Made so well. The man in the background i think is just there for fun, like the clock and tape deck. I found him really amusing! maybe he's meant to give a twist on the whole 'talking heads' convention in documentaries, a bit like radiophonic workshop gave a (pretty big) twist on music/sound making.
